Berkeley I: The Cheese Board

We got a to go order from The Cheese Board (or Cheeseboard), a pizza collective in Berkeley, CA. We had their “pizza of the day,” and it was made pretty simply with delicious ingredients, and we enjoyed it in the car while it was still hot out of the oven. I’ve tried their pizza once before; it was another simple pizza du jour, and it was topped with sliced potatoes, olive oil, a bit of rosemary and other herbs. It was memorable. A copy of their book, The Cheese Board: Collective Works: Bread, Pastry, Cheese, Pizza  can always be found at their sister co-op, Arizmendi Bakery in the Grand Lake neighborhood of Oakland. You can view the Arizmendi pizza schedule here. One of my favorite things about both spots is they usually include little mini extra slivers of pizza with your pizza slices (an extra yummy bonus!).
